Distance Learning

NICC uses technology to bring education to you. Distance Learning classes use computers, the Internet, the Iowa Communications Network (ICN), interactive discussion boards, video streams, and webcasts to offer quality college classes at a time and place that fit your schedule. NICC offers three types of Distance Learning courses:
  • Online (or Web-based)
  • ICN (or videoconference)
  • Hybrid (or blended)
Registration for Distance Learning courses involves the same process as for traditional on-campus courses. All Distance Learning courses are equivalent to on-campus courses in credit hours, transferability to other institutions, and fulfillment of program or degree requirements.
