Admissions FAQ

How do I apply?
Submit a completed Application for Admission to the campus you plan to attend or apply online. There is no application fee.

What are the application requirements?
In addition to completing an Application for Admission, you must complete ONE of the following pre-admission requirements: submit ACT scores, complete pre-admissions assessment test or submit college transcripts. For more information, click here.

Can I schedule a tour?
The Admissions Office on either campus has regularly scheduled tours on selected Wednesdays each month.  You can also contact the Admissions office on either campus to arrange a time more convenient for you.

What will my tuition and expenses be?
Tuition is $115 per credit hour plus $13 per credit hour in courses fees. Tuition and fees are the same for non-residents of Iowa. Estimated expenses for the academic year include:

Tuition and Fees    $4096

Housing                $4,500
Food                    $2,000
Miscellaneous        $1,200
Total                    $12,668   

Will my credits transfer?
You should select courses that conform with requirements of the particular institution to which you intend to transfer. Consult with your advisor any time you have doubts about course selection.

Students transferring to the University of Dubuque or Clarke College can apply jointly to both institutions and work with a transfer coordinator to ensure you are taking the correct courses.

How do I prepare for pre-admissions testing?
NICC’s Learning Centers have study packets available in each of the content areas - stop by, pick one up and then review with faculty in the Learning Centers.
