High School – College Credit

A high school partnership is a cooperative program between Northeast Iowa Community College and high schools in the district area. NICC faculty and high school teachers have worked together to identify career program prerequisite courses for high school students and reward these students for previous learning experiences with college coursework.

Students from over 30 area high schools earn college credit in NICC career programs for college courses taken in high school.

A 28E contract has been signed between NICC and the high schools that allows high school students to earn college credit and high school credit for achieving these skills while in high school.

With the development of these high school partnerships there are many advantages to the students and parents. Click on the PSEO, Contracted and Articulated Courses links to the left to learn about the three ways for a high school student to earn college credit while still in high school.
