Schedules and Registration
Northeast Iowa Community College's online course schedule allows you to easily find when and where classes are offered. Credit courses follow fall, spring and summer semester schedules. In addition, NICC offers a convenient Degree After Five program for working adults who are looking to earn a degree.
Non-credit courses include personal interest, career and professional development courses that do not follow a semester schedule and are offered at different times of the year.
Academic advisors assist students with their course registration and program requirements each semester. Students are encouraged to contact their advisor early to plan their schedules and discuss program requirements. Course schedules should be planned carefully in order to ensure the best selection and minimal changes. Course changes may affect program length, tuition costs and financial aid funding.
Registration dates change by semester. View the registration dates on Xpress.
Non-degree Seeking Students
If a prospective student is interested in taking a class at NICC without earning a degree, the process is simple. Submit an application to NICC and choose Not Seeking a Degree as the academic program. Non-degree seeking students are considered General/Liberal Studies (GLS) students and do not have to complete admission testing to be accepted to the College. However, some courses require prerequisites and/or are reserved for program students. If a course has a prerequisite, the student must provide documentation that he or she satisfies the requirements for registration in the course. GLS students will receive their Xpress login and password after submitting the application. Follow the directions given with the login information to register for courses online. GLS students are not eligible for financial aid funding.
