Northeast Iowa Community College campuses have implemented community initiatives supporting education for students and the surrounding communities. This includes sustainability initiatives such as the Outdoor Learning Lab on the Peosta campus and sustainable prairie on the Calmar campus and various events and conferences each year for the general public.
Additionally, the College provides health and wellness services for the community, offering students in a variety of programs the opportunity to gain first-hand experience outside the classroom. Students are also encouraged to investigate study abroad opportunities, most of which are open to the public, to broaden their college experience.
The College also provides opportunities for area children to participate in various summer camps offered throughout the district. High school students can participate in Career Learning Link, which connects students to high-demand career areas and sets them on the pathway to career and educational success beyond high school.
