Northeast Iowa Community College campuses have implemented community initiatives supporting education for students and the surrounding communities. This includes sustainability initiatives such as the Outdoor Learning Lab on the Peosta campus and sustainable prairie on the Calmar campus and various events and conferences each year for the general public.
Additionally, the College allows students to gain first-hand experience outside the classroom by providing certain health and wellness services for the community. Students and community members are also encouraged to participate in study abroad opportunities to broaden their educational experience.
The College provides several opportunities for area children to participate in various summer camps. High school students can participate in the Northeast Iowa Career Learning Link, which connects students to high-demand career areas and sets them on the pathway to a career and educational success beyond high school.
