Description:

This certificate is designed to provide competency-based instruction concerning the use of tools, materials and practices used in the building trades. You apply this knowledge to concrete form construction, footing and foundation, framing, laying out joists, subflooring, wall studs, windows, doors, rafters and related cuts for a student building project.

Admissions Requirements:

  • Submission of your official high school transcript with ACT score.
  • Submission of transcript from any college or university previously attended.
  • Completion of ACCUPLACER assessment if necessary.

The Calmar carpentry program is recognized by the NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research). In addition, all Calmar carpentry students will become SOHA certified through Career Safe Online.
