Oelwein Center

The Oelwein center offers credit, recertification and professional development courses in both face-to-face and ICN formats. The center is housed at Iowa's first Regional Academy for Math and Science (RAMS) center in Oelwein. The facility includes three traditional classrooms, two science labs, one fully-networked computer lab, one Project Lead the Way lab, an ICN room, office and conference space commons area.

RAMS seeks to increase the science, technology, engineering and math skills among young students. In addition to these goals, the RAMS and Oelwein Center provides a full range of NICC credit, non-credit and professional development offerings.

The center offers a variety of services to Oelwein and surrounding communities including:

  • Placement testing
  • Program information
  • Intake advising
  • Course registration
  • Financial aid information
  • Administration of Distance Learning exams
  • Professional development courses
  • Specialized business training
  • Adult Secondary Education (ASE) classes for preparation in obtaining a high school equivalency diploma (HSED)
