Math

Drop-in help is available for all levels of mathematics. Using an informal, kitchen-table style of working with students, professional math instructors work their way from student to student, guiding them toward understanding. Help is offered in areas such as algebra, statistics, physics, calculus and dosage calculations.

Writing

Writing help is available by appointment or on a drop-in basis. Appointments may be made by phone or at the sign-in desk. Students may receive individualized writing help for any class. Students who wish to receive help with editing or revision should bring in two, double-spaced, printed copies. The open computer lab may be used for writing or printing.

Study Skills

The Learning Center offers strategies leading toward academic success for those who may feel overwhelmed and need to brush up on basic study skills. A one-on-one approach is used to teach time management, testing skills, textbook reading and note-taking.

Health Sciences

Extra help is available for health sciences courses such as Anatomy & Physiology I and II, Microbiology, Biology or Chemistry. An open lab also gives students hands-on experience with laboratory concepts.

Peer Tutoring

Student peer tutors offer help in a variety of subjects from computers to accounting. The Peosta Learning Center is frequently looking for peer tutors, so if you’re an academically successful student who is interested in being paid to help other students, please contact the Learning Center.
