Registration for classes held at an area high school is completed through the high school business office and begins approximately four weeks prior to the start of each class. Check with your high school for details.
For classes held at an NICC location, registrations may be completed online or by phone. Note that registrations are accepted on a first come, first served basis.
All class times listed are tentative and for classroom sessions only; class times listed do not include the Behind-the-Wheel (BTW) portion. Typically a driving schedule is set-up during the first class. Extra days may be needed to fulfill state driving requirements especially for larger classes. Adult Driver Education is also available for students over 18 years of age.
Cost for the course is $349 and is due with the registration. When registering with a high school, fee waivers may be honored. Check with the business office for your school’s registration procedure.
Attendance is required at all sessions. Ensure your schedule is clear for the duration of the course; no exceptions. Students must have an Iowa driver’s permit before the first class.
Athletic teams, cheerleading squads, etc. with a varied schedule who cannot fit into regular classes may contact Northeast Iowa Community College Business and Community Solutions about the option of customizing a course to fit your schedule. This option is available for groups of eight or more.
