Joann Svendsen

About

Joann has been in the medical field for 20 years, with work experience in nursing homes, home health and hospice, and public health. She has been teaching full time with NICC since 2016. Joann has presented twice at the Iowa Public Health Governor's Conference on the Development of a Community Ethics Committee (2010), and the Development of a County Wellness Coalition (2013). She also received the award for 100 Great Nurses in Iowa in 2015.

Her teaching areas include Certified Nurse Aide, Medical Terminology, Dosage Calc, Nutrition, Intro to Health Occupations, Healthcare Compliance as well as previous career teaching in public health as a CPR Instructor and Safe Sitter Instructor.
