Sports Shooting team competes against Indian Hills Community College

NICC DISTRICT—The Northeast Iowa Community College Sports Shooting team competed at the Indian Hills Community College Dual Conference Meet on Sept. 29 in Turkey Valley. The NICC team fell to Indian Hills, 481 to 455. Three NICC athletes medaled at the event.

At the Dual Conference Meet in American Trap, 16 yards, NICC athletes scored the following as individuals (out of 100):

  • Shaylee Brincks, Waucoma, Iowa, 94, earning 2nd Place Medal Women’s
  • Christian Schwickerath, of New Hampton, Iowa, 99, earning 1st Place Medal Men’s
  • Landon Goza, of Ft. Atkinson, Iowa, 91
  • Luke Massman, of Ossian, Iowa, 87
  • Adam Reinertson, of Fayette, Iowa, 84
  • Bradley Kriener, of Ft. Atkinson, 83
  • Melody Gossman, of Rose Creek, Minn., 83, earning 3rd Place Medal Women’s
  • Journey Howe, Lawler, Iowa, 79
  • Mason Koehler, of Claremont, Minn., 77
  • Hannah Evert, of Mazomanie, Wis., 70
  • Carter Haag, of Lewiston, Minn., 68

Anthony Sisneros, NICC Sports Shooting team coach, had compliments for his team’s competition and looked ahead to the next meet against Hawkeye.

“We ran into a really good Indian Hills team today that was hitting on all cylinders. Our scores were respectable, but I know we can improve. Christian, Shaylee and Melody shot very well and earned their medals today against a good squad. I am looking forward to our next meet against Hawkeye Community College,” Sisneros expressed. 

The NICC Sports Shooting team will compete next on Saturday, Oct. 13, against Hawkeye Community College. The meet will be held at Izaak Walton League, 5519 E. Washburn Rd., in Waterloo.
