Northeast Iowa Community College receives Silver award and 2025-2026 Military Friendly® School designation
Tuesday, April 15, 2025
NORTHEAST IOWA—Northeast Iowa Community College has earned a Silver award, 2025-2026 Military Friendly® school honor, for its retention, graduation, job placement, repayment, persistence and loan default rates for all students and student veterans. The College also received a Military Friendly School - Spouse designation for the 2025-26 school year.
Institutions earning the Military Friendly® Schools Awards designation were evaluated using public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. More than 1,800 schools participated in the 2025-2026 survey.
“Northeast Iowa Community College is continuing to support veterans, current service members and military dependents. We want to continue to provide an environment that encourages growth and learning through academic supports, mental health counseling, career services, a veterans lounge and connection to outside resources that supports the transition from military life to civilian life or support while continuing to serve,” said Dawn Fleming, NICC assistant director of financial aid/VA certifying official.
The 2025-2026 Military Friendly® Schools list will be published in G.I. Jobs magazine's May issue and found at www.militaryfriendly.com. Methodology, criteria, and weightings were determined by Viqtory with input from the Military Friendly® Advisory Council of independent leaders in higher education. Final ratings were determined by combining the institution’s survey responses and government/agency public data sources within a logic-based assessment. We measure their ability to meet thresholds for Retention, Graduation, Job Placement, Repayment, Persistence, and Loan Default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans.
