NICC Appoints Dr. Emily Logan as Associate Vice President of Teaching and Learning

Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) is pleased to announce that Emily Logan, Ph.D., has accepted the position of associate vice president of teaching and learning. Dr. Logan will begin her role on October 27, 2025.

A professional headshot of Dr. Emily LoganDr. Logan joins NICC with more than a decade of experience in teaching, academic administration, and workforce development. She most recently served as dean of career and community education at Kirkwood Community College (KCC), where she led initiatives to develop and sustain innovative programming, expand industry and community partnerships, and exceed departmental goals. 

During her tenure at KCC, Dr. Logan also served as the Dean of Industrial Technologies, and held leadership roles as both executive board member and president of the KCC Faculty Association.

Dr. Logan earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Education from Iowa State University, with an emphasis in higher education and community college leadership. “Dr. Logan brings a strong record of innovation, collaboration, and student-focused leadership,” said Kathleen Nacos-Burds, Ph.D., Vice President of Teaching and Learning at NICC. “Her expertise and commitment to educational excellence will be invaluable as we continue advancing and innovating programs across the College.”
