School Age Program (offered at the Peosta Center only)

A child must be five years old by Sept. 15 to attend the School Age program at the center. The child is eligible for the program through the summer of first grade.

School age care will be available within the same times as the Early Childhood program. Breakfast will be served before school age pick-ups, and a snack will be available for children after school. When your child is at the center all day, breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack are served.

Bus pick-up and drop-off within the West Dubuque District will vary from year to year. You will be informed by the West Dubuque Transportation Department regarding pick-up times. The directors will also be notified a week before school starts of that time as well. Parents need to inform the director of transportation for the Western Dubuque Schools to request pick-up and drop-off at the College. If your child misses the bus, it will be your responsibility to get your child to school.

The school age program will also operate on teacher in-service days, and conference days. The holidays for the Child Development Center are listed at the beginning of the policy manual. The center is closed for snow days only when NICC is closed because of weather and delayed on days that they are also delayed. Be sure to listen to one of the radio stations listed under weather for closings or delays. Please check any dates in question with the directors of the Child Development Center.
