Iowa Community College Athletic Conference honors two NICC Sports Shooting athletes for top performances this season

NORTHEAST IOWA—The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has honored two Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) Sports Shooting team athletes as All-Region qualifiers and special award recipients following the 2023 season. The NICC student-athlete award earners were recognized based on statistics throughout the season.

NICC Sports Shooting team member Ashley Fischer, of Fort Atkinson, was named season Trap First Teamer for female athletes, along with NICC athlete Tristan Lewison, of LeRoy, Minn., to the Trap First Team for male athletes. 

This year's Shooters of the Year were named after earning the best score of the High Over All criteria. Hawkeye Community College's Colton Crooks took the Male Shooter of the Year honor and Southeastern Community College’s Jenna Smith earned the Female Shooter of the Year award. 

All-Region scoring criteria are determined by: High Over All (HOA), best three regular season trap + one skeet + one sporting clay + championship score in each; Trap, best three regular season scores + ICCAC championship score; Skeet, best regular season score + ICCAC championship score; Sporting Clay, best regular season score + ICCAC championship score.
