Calmar: Residence Halls at Luther College

NICC has partnered with Luther College in Decorah to give students the option to live in Larsen Hall on campus at Luther, a 12-mile drive from the Calmar campus. Living on the Luther campus, you will have numerous opportunities to become engaged in campus life. Whether it's through participating in a club, or being involved in intramurals, students are encouraged to become immersed in the campus community. Larsen Hall does not have a kitchen, therefore a meal plan is required. There are various meal plan options available to accommodate the differing needs of each student. The Luther agreement includes tailored options for NICC students participating in specific programs, such as the John Deere Tech program.

For more information call the NICC Admissions Office at 563.562.3263, ext. 2700 or email luther-housing@nicc.edu. You can also view information about housing options at Luther College on their website.

Step 1: Complete the Housing Application: Luther College Residence Halls.

Step 2: Review the housing options—single, double, triple occupancy.

Step 3: Review the meal plan options to find a plan that fits your needs.

Step 4: Housing Notification - After Luther College reviews your application, you will receive an email regarding your housing status. If approved, you will receive a follow-up "Welcome" packet containing essential details, including:

  • Instructions for scheduling a campus tour
  • Official move-in dates and times
  • A "What to Bring" packing list and other move-in logistics

Step 5: Payment and Financial Aid - Please note that all housing and meal plan fees are payable directly to Luther College, not NICC.

  • Financial Aid: If you intend to use financial aid to cover these costs, contact the NICC Financial Aid Office to confirm your eligibility for financial aid for housing costs.

  • Payment Plans: Luther College offers monthly payment plans for students and families who prefer to distribute costs throughout the semester.
