Ways to Give

You can make a difference! Gifts to Northeast Iowa Community College, regardless of size, make a lasting impact on the lives of NICC students, the local workforce and community vitality.

Gifts made to the NICC Foundation provide funding for:

  • Student Scholarships
  • Academic Programs
  • Infrastructure
  • Instructional Equipment and Technology
  • Workforce Training Programs
  • Student Crisis Funds

Consider investing in our students by choosing to give via one of the options below. Gifts can also be made as an endowment, annual award, memorial gift or as a gift towards the Fund for Excellence, which is a fund of unrestricted gifts for College-identified priorities.

Outright Gifts

Cash Gifts

The simplest and easiest gift to make is by cash, check or credit card. These gifts can be made by calling the Foundation Office, by mail or by giving online.

Donated good or service

These gifts are non-cash gifts and may be accepted provided they support the mission of the College. The donor, through an appraisal or record of purchase, determines the gift value.


Stocks, bonds and mutual funds are excellence ways to give, particularly if they have appreciated in value. In many cases, the donor may avoid capital gains tax if the gift is given directly to the College instead of selling and donating the proceeds. Please contact the Foundation Office if you are considering a gift of securities for transaction information.

Real Estate or Personal Property

Real estate gifts can be given in the forms of private, commercial or agriculture property. Personal property may be accepted provided it supports the mission of the College.

Pledged Gifts

Made over a period of time, pledged gifts allows the donor to be thoughtful regarding their current and long-term philanthropic goals.

Planned Gifts

Honor your passion for education with a planned gift that provides a lasting legacy for the future of the College through a will bequest, charitable trust, life insurance beneficiary or retirement plan beneficiary.

Matching Gifts

An easy way to enhance your gift is through a matching gift program. Inquire if your employer or your spouse’s employer will match all or a percentage of your contributions.
