HESI LPN to ADN Entrance Exam

To enter the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program, students are required to complete the HESI LPN to ADN Entrance Exam. This is a 75-item comprehensive exam for Licensed Practical nurses seeking entrance into the ADN program that identifies strengths and weaknesses in PN content areas and the possible need for remediation prior to entrance. The results include personalized remediation content, tagged directly to content in Elsevier LPN texts, to address each student’s unique knowledge deficits and provides specific feedback about subjects answered incorrectly. Detailed online reports are provided with HESI exams for students at the conclusion of the exam.

Students wishing to enter the Transitioning from Practice into Associate Degree Nursing course are required to achieve the minimum score of 850 before being allowed to enter the course. All are highly encouraged to prepare thoroughly for the exam.

Please be specific when scheduling indicating you need the LPN to ADN exam and if you are a 1st time or 2nd time taker.  Plan ahead and prepare well for the exam. The testing schedule is limited; don’t wait and risk your seat in Transitioning from Practice into Associate Degree Nursing! Remember that if you do not achieve the minimum score you will need to remediate, study more and retest.

Currently, exams are remote from your home and video proctored. No specific texts are required to prepare for this exam. Standard PN NCLEX prep books and LPN nursing knowledge will help you be successful on this exam. Prep books are available in both campus libraries, Learning Centers and general online resources.
