HESI LPN to ADN Entrance Exam
To enter the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program, students are required to complete the HESI LPN to ADN Entrance Exam. This is a 75-item comprehensive exam for Licensed Practical nurses seeking entrance into the ADN program that identifies strengths and weaknesses in PN content areas and the possible need for remediation prior to entrance. The results include personalized remediation content, tagged directly to content in Elsevier LPN texts, to address each student’s unique knowledge deficits and provides specific feedback about subjects answered incorrectly. Detailed online reports are provided with HESI exams for students at the conclusion of the exam.
Students wishing to enter the Transitioning from Practice into Associate Degree Nursing course are required to achieve the minimum score of 850 before being allowed to enter the course. All are highly encouraged to prepare thoroughly for the exam.

Remember that the testing must be done on the scheduled days in a computer lab on the Calmar or Peosta campus. No specific texts are required to prepare for this exam. Standard PN NCLEX prep books and LPN nursing knowledge will help you be successful on this exam. Prep books are available in both campus libraries, Learning Centers and general online resources.
