About Northeast Iowa Community College

Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) has served the region since 1966, providing accessible, high-quality education and training that strengthen communities and fuel economic growth. With campuses in Calmar and Peosta and service locations across northeast Iowa, NICC empowers students to build skills, pursue rewarding careers, and achieve their goals close to home. The College continues to evolve to meet workforce needs and support lifelong learning.

Guided by a collaborative three-year Strategic Plan, NICC is focused on continuous improvement, accountability, and innovation to drive student success and long-term growth.

Governance & Leadership

Board of Trustees: The Northeast Iowa Community College Board of Trustees is a nine-member governing body elected from across the district’s eight counties to set policy and guide the College’s mission. The board meets monthly in open meetings. Meeting information, agendas and minutes are available to the public. 

Administrative Cabinet: The administrative cabinet advises the president and brings together broad perspectives from across the College to support informed, integrated decision-making.

Academic Deans: The academic deans, working with the vice president of teaching and learning, oversee curriculum, faculty and programs to ensure academic quality and student success at Northeast Iowa Community College.
