Training in the Workplace

Experience: NICC provides instructors that serve their communities as emergency responders with paramedic and firefighter backgrounds. This provides your employees with a training experience from those who manage real life emergencies. Our instructors have warm, welcoming personalities and encourage questions from their students.

Cost-Effective: The CPR/First Aid provider cards issued are good for two (2) years. Bloodborne pathogen cards are good for one (1) year. This saves your business in classroom expenses and employee training time.

Convenient: The training program can also be customized to meet your facility's specific needs. The classes can be scheduled at your convenience: morning, afternoons, evenings and weekends. The training is DVD-based, so it can be held at our state-of-the-art facility or it can be delivered at your facility. It is possible to also host annual CPR refresher courses if your employees would like to demonstrate their retention.

Hands-on Training: All students perform their CPR skills on manikins in a small group, which maximizes practice and reinforces critical steps. Instructors mentor students through the steps, which will help them build their confidence. The instructors bring expertise from their jobs and ensure the students are confident in their abilities to respond to emergencies by the end of the class.

Renewal Reminder: NICC will send a friendly reminder when it is time for your employees to renew.

ZOLL® Automatic External Defibrillators (AED)

While performing chest compressions can maintain blood and oxygen perfusion throughout the body, the automatic external defibrillator (AED) is a device that can be used to allow the heart to start beating in its normal fashion. The chances of survival decrease 10%, for every minute that a patient remains in cardiac arrest. Early CPR and early defibrillation are critical to saving a life. Northeast Iowa Community College is your ZOLL® AED distributor and can offer the AED, mounting cabinets, batteries, pads and service. Contact Phil Arensdorf for pricing and availability at arensdorfp@nicc.edu or 844.642.2338, ext. 1399.
