Cabinet and Trim Carpentry Basics

Craft your career in our hands-on cabinetry lab.
Step into the shop and gain the skills necessary for the art of cabinet making. In our hands-on lab, you will dive into the essential techniques of joinery, hardware installation, assembly and finishing. You’ll develop a deep understanding of solid woods and industry-standard tools while learning modern methods like drafting, design and the use of a computer numerical control (CNC) router. From day one, safety is a priority, and you’ll even earn your OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification to prove it.
We are proud to partner with Four Mounds to offer this unique "earn and learn" opportunity. You will get authentic experience in a real woodshop, working on genuine cabinetry projects while building your professional resume. Whether you are perfecting a finish or planning a complex layout, you are gaining the high-demand skills needed to thrive in the industry. Once you’ve completed the program, you’ll be perfectly positioned to continue your education in the Carpentry degree program.
