Description

An Associate of Arts degree provides employees for human services agencies in Northeast Iowa and in the surrounding tri-state area. The program is designed to enable you to enter the workforce as a human service worker on a counseling staff, as a youth care supervisor or in other occupations in the area. It also prepares you for transfer to a four-year college or university to obtain a baccalaureate degree in an area of interest such as social work, psychology, sociology, special education or substance abuse.

Upon approval for field experience, students will be required to complete a background check conducted by the agency in which the student plans to be placed.

Related Student Organizations

Team Intervene is a student-led organization that promotes healthy decision making and lifestyles. Team Intervene partners with local agencies to provide presentations, organize special events and coordinate social marketing campaigns. The group participates in trainings, conferences and activities that help build a human services network.
