Psychology is the scientific study of the mind and behavior. The Psychology Transfer Major A.A. degree focuses on gaining knowledge and understanding of major subfields in the discipline including; an introduction to psychology, developmental psychology and social psychology. Students in this program will also learn about statistics and human biology.

The Psychology Transfer Major A.A. degree fulfills the first two years of a four-year degree at the University of Iowa, Iowa State University, University of Northern Iowa, Clarke University, St. Ambrose University and Upper Iowa University. Individual program courses may also transfer to other four-year universities. This program puts you on a successful path to earn a bachelor's degree.

  1. Apply for admission.
  2. Submit official high school, high school equivalency and/or college transcripts to the Admissions Office of the campus you plan to attend.
  3. Complete ACCUPLACER® reading and writing assessment and ALEKS® math assessment for course placement. Assessments may be waived based on previous college coursework or submission of valid ACT®, or SAT® test scores. Reading and writing scores are valid for three years, and math scores are valid for two years.
